SUBSTANTIAL PRICE DROP on the world's finest Austin-Healey BN1! Think that’s a preposterous claim? You haven’t seen this car. It was bought from its original owner, still in pretty decent condition in 1998 with low original miles and then underwent an unbelievably thorough—and documented—professional restoration by Richard Gordon and Roger Moment, who are considered THE Healey 100 guys. We have three large binders full of detailed photographs and actual samples of the original upholstery materials, fasteners and trim. No expense was spared and the goal was to create an as-new ’55 Healey 100. In fact, the result is actually better than they were originally painted. This car will win any Healey 100 concours competition. It is Pebble Beach or Amelia Island quality throughout.
Finished in its original Spruce Green—not BRG—which was one of only five colors available then, and trimmed in the original deep green leather & carpets that were in all Spruce cars. In addition to the chrome 72-spoke wheels and modern tires in the photos, a full set of original 48-spoke silver-painted wheels and narrow period Dunlop tires are included for show purposes. The original took kit, jack, owner’s book and all original body and warranty tags are in place. A new top, tonneau cover and side curtains were made in period dark green. Bright work has been rechromed and—take us literally—every little thing is correct and as-new.
This is probably not a car to pile grandkids into for a DQ trip, but if you want to show up at any top-drawer Austin Healey show and knock everyone’s hats off, you cannot find a better example. Not surprisingly, we have it priced close to the top of the market, since it is the definition of a #1+ car.
