Desirable late-generation 190SL roadster rotisserie restoration that included the entire chassis, professional engine and drive train rebuilds and a complete strip and refinish of a rust- and damage-free survivor car. (It's a completely original Western car with just over 100K miles) The interior was reupholstered with new correct carpets and M-B Tex, plus a new Beige Haartz cloth convertible top finished the job along with many freshly-rechromed parts.
Also included are the period Becker Europa radio and correct VDO 7-day clock, jack and lug wrench. The radiator, fuel tank and generator were restored as well. It is a fully-sorted, ready-to-drive classic SL.
During its reassembly virtually everything mechanical was restored or replaced with OEM level parts—exhaust, brakes, shocks, etc. The worn Solex carburetors were replaced with a set of new Webers and given a very sharp tune job by a vintage Mercedes specialist. (Solexes are in the trunk)
The car looks terrific in Champagne with Parchment interior trim, which are often-overlooked period colors and a welcome break from all the red, black and silver ones. Matching original wheels have correct hubcaps, stainless trim rings and new whitewalls. The intent was to create a strong #2+ or 1- car that is very show-worthy, but still affordable. As is nearly always the case, the restoration cost more than we are offering the car for, and the new owner will be able to enjoy it immediately! Matching factory hardtop available.
