Everyone says "They don't make 'em like that anymore," and no one does…except Morgan! The Plus 8 carries on Morgan's historic traditions, but with a much more modern and powerful drivetrain and (slightly) more modern engineering.
The Plus 8 is normally fitted with the Rover 3.5 liter V8 detuned enough to squeak past US emissions. Huge ugly seats meet the headrest requirement and clumsy bumpers see to that regulation.
HOWEVER, this particular car once belonged to a Morgan enthusiast who, as Tim Allen says, "rewired" it back into what Morgan originally intended. The big seats were replaced with shell-type buckets and racing belts, the bumpers were lowered back to their original position and the original engine received a lot of upgrades. Primarily, the pair of S.U. carburetors have been replaced with an Edelbrock aluminum manifold and 4-barrel, the exhaust has custom headers and duals plus many upgrades to the ignition and appearance of the engine area.
The 4-speed transmission has been replaced with a close-ratio 5-speed and the car is an absolute riot to drive! Fitted with genuine Morgan alloy wheels, luggage rack, Michelin performance radials, black top and side curtains that have rarely been used. 51K miles and in remarkable condition throughout. Note: because of the modifications described, the car will no longer pass most emission testing, so make sure you can register it in your location.
