This stunning 1969 Mustang Mach 1 427 SOHC was purchased by our customer in Scottsdale in 2008. It has had extensive shock tower/inner fender modifications (very similar to a Boss 429) to allow for the super rare 427 SOHC Cammer installation.
As with the majority of the auction muscle cars that come to us from sea level, drivability problems are common. This car was over-carbureted for Denver and required final tuning. During our initial diagnosis of an engine miss, a compression test was performed and one cylinder was found to be low.
The decision was made to remove the engine for inspection. After a careful rebuild, the engine Dyno'd at 605HP, very close to where it was when new.
