The Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) XK 120s are far rarer than the roadsters, the cars are more rigid and they have beautiful walnut veneers covering the dash and door sills the open cars don’t have. This one was completed by one of the country’s best-known XK120 restorers some years ago and has been with the present owner nearly twenty years.
Fitted with rare Boranni wire wheels (5) and a polished MotoLita steering wheel (whose wood rim was refinished by a noted violin restorer). Paint and interior are still very nice with great patina. Car was professionally prepared to run today’s vintage road tours with proper seat belts, improved radiator & high-volume water pump, supplemental electric fan and strong focus on reliability.
Has desired rear suspension modification and other XK120 tricks. Very well sorted mechanically, runs and drives exceptionally well. Sure, the open cars are more fun--until it's 50 degrees and raining. Hard to get a ready-to-go major event car in this price range, but owner now has a new toy.
