This 1957 Arnolt-Bristol 404-X-3104 has been in our customer’s family since the car was built in 1954, and later titled in 1957. It is an amazing, well preserved original car. We recently completed the necessary lead & body work. We then painted the car. A new wiring harness was installed and the engine bay painted as well.
Every car gets a thorough inspection upon arrival. This Arnolt-Bristol had some significant rust issues beneath the hood and other places. A unique 'folded-over-frame' type of bodywork gave us some challenges.
We use a system of labels, bags, bins and more to stay on top of every last valuable part.
We stripped the car down to bare metal, revealing the need for fairly extensive lead work.
The Arnolt-Bristol is out of the paint booth and into sanding. We laid down primer, a sealing coat, then 4 coats of paint and 3 of clear coat. Next is sanding and more sanding.
Here, we see the Arnolt-Bristol next to our 1954 - a project from last year. We were able to finish the car just in time for a special event at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut!
