This largely-original and very desirable classic Chevy Corvette C1 was sold new in Los Angeles at Angelus Chevrolet, as documented by the NCRS. It was originally ordered in Roman Red as a 250hp automatic with a black soft top. The car retains its original engine, with appropriate stamps, and the 38,084 miles are believed actual. This classic American muscle car was lightly restored twenty years ago and has largely enjoyed an easy residence in two local collections since.
The transmission was completely rebuilt a thousand miles ago and the car could be taken on a tour tomorrow. The only deviation from stock was the installation of a thick-core aluminum radiator for worry-free summer rides. It has a clean accident and rust-free history. Everything works, it has all the original ignition shielding, the lifters are nice and quiet and it is a delightful C1 to drive, without the tiring heavy clutch and constant gear-shifting of a manual version!
Finding a last-year C1 that hasn’t had to be resurrected from a tired, hard-driven beater is getting difficult, and such a car at an affordable price point is even more exciting.
