We recently helped our customer claim this 1966 Porsche 912 from an online auction. After some Porsche counseling and smart bidding, he won the auction. Now it's here for restoration before, during and after an electric conversion by our friends at Moment Motors in Austin, TX.
This classic Porsche will be undergoing a complete restoration at our shop, so we started with disassembly and documentation. This included detailed records of the engine, which runs great. The owner may rebuild it and keep it with the car, or sell it as is.
The car has made its way through the disassembly and documentation process, and we’ve let our technician Mario show off his metalworking skills on the body of this 912. We have also retrofitted a 911 engine mount in the engine bay to mount the electric motor. Next, we're applying primer and a coat of paint before sending down to Austin for rough-in on battery boxes, drivetrain and more. Then it will return to us for show-quality paint, interior and the rest.
We can’t wait to see this one finished up. Of course, at Farland the fun comes in pairs. Have you seen our other Electric 912 project?
