This 1972 Pantera came from Houston and was submerged during the floods and hurricane. Sometimes up to 12 feet of water. It's a family heirloom that we are determined to get up and running again. Don't worry about seeing it for sale - plans are to keep it in the family forever.
At this point we are not undergoing restoration. We recently got the engine freed up and turned it over by hand. We also checked the crankshaft, reinstalled the pan, pushed the water out of the block and added fresh oil. Effervescece from aluminum and salt water is interfering with the rings, so that will be worked out. We are now able to get it started and run it. The engine has been removed from the car for further work.
The Pantera is a Ghia-designed body powered by good old-fashioned American Muscle. Stay tuned on the continued rebirth of this iconic classic.
