Over the past few months, we’ve been slowly stepping into the classic car electric conversion game. Of course, we have our pair of classic 1966 Porsche 912’s, one for a private customer, and one we’re building in the shop as our first electric Porsche conversion.
Before we could even finish getting these two buttoned-up, the electric idea is quickly spreading. While some get built for ease of use, others offer the car a chance at another life, like this car here.
This is a 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2. While it wears the badges of a proud owner, the car was caught in a hurricane up in the northeast a few years ago. Unfortunately, the car was caught in the water and now shows a molded, degrading interior. Since the flood, the car has not been driven and shows a buildup of cobwebs and heavy dust on the exterior. While we’re giving this one the charge, we’ll also be fixing up a bit of bodywork on the passengers’ rear wheel and addressing a few paint issues throughout. Be sure to keep an eye on this more modern electrification case here in the shop.
