Vehicle Details

This is a real, last-year-of-production Tiger 260—not a converted Alpine!  An original California car with very few owners (we even have the original purchase order).  Apparently never crashed, rusted or abused like so many were.

The current owner brought the car to our shop for a professional strip and refinish back to the original Polar White (which is really a cream color), spending over $25K.  The body required little metalwork before being refinished and we found virtually no rust to repair.  Among the many service records are ones to refresh the 260 engine, new interior trim, Spax shocks and much more.

So why is it an ‘opportunity’ and priced so low?  Simple—the owner can’t finish the project and decided to have us sell the car as-is.  It is running & driving, but should not be considered roadworthy.  Most electrical things are working, but a wiring redo would be advisable.  The car starts right up and sounds great; it shifts well and the clutch is fine.  Dash & instruments look very nice and the seat upholstery is pretty nice as well, but could still use some work   The convertible top and tonneau are fine and all chrome looks nice—but there’s finishing work to be done that most handy guys could do in their garage at home.

To be safe and drive well, the original suspension wear items (ball joints, etc) should be replaced.  Get the brakes & tires replaced and you’d have a really nice, cosmetically restored genuine Tiger to enjoy.  Decked out with alloy wheels, Cobra-style aluminum valve covers and no aftermarket wheel flares or hood scoops.  We have a HUGE file of past service & maintenance records—this car is better documented than some of the Ferraris we see!  There are even period photos from when it was new.  Current Hagerty #2 valuation is $69,000, so this Tiger truly is an opportunity at $52,500.
