The Classic Mercedes-Benz 107-series has enjoyed strong popularity ever since its inception in 1972 as the 350SL. Progressing over the years through the 450, 380, 500 and final 560 version with steady advances in performance and safety features, these cars have always been iconic.

Today, 560SLs seem to fall into one of three categories: (1) rough, high-mile, needy examples that sell in the 'teens. (2) Exceptionally low-mileage, absolutely pristine show princesses that run $60K+ and (3) nice, well-kept, under-100K mile 'drivers' that look and run great, usually with reassuring service histories that sell in the affordable $30K range, but drive the same. Those are the ones most enthusiasts want and the ones we seek out.

This one is a great example: CarFax shows ownership beginning in the upper midwest and soon moving to Arizona and finally Southern California. No accidents are in its history and it has benefitted from documented service work in recent years. The Arctic White finish is in very nice shape and the burgundy interior provides a great contrast. A new black canvas convertible top was recently installed, plus we have the factory hardtop.

A popular period option was the chromed stock alloy wheels that jazz it up a bit and the car has only covered 85K miles since new. The spare and all the tools are in the trunk and we have the set of owner's books as well. Luxurious as it originally was, leather upholstery can be an uncomfortable top-down summer proposition, so consider adding a set of burgundy sheepskin seat covers that will feel good in winter, too!

The best part is, bargain cars only get less valuable even as you spend endless money on them and show ponies quickly depreciate with use, but a good, solid $30K 560SL gives the exact same driving fun for half the investment and retains value far better than either.

If you are considering one of the classic or collectible cars on our website, be assured that coming for a personal visit to inspect first-hand the car that has captured your fancy is very welcome. We practice transparency in all of our descriptions, but believe that nothing is as convincing as seeing and touching the car yourself. Plan a few hours, so you can see, touch, feel and drive the car, and enjoy a tour of our restoration shops to see 'where the magic happens.' If your schedule is too committed, we also welcome a knowledgeable agent visiting for you. Please understand that sales are final, so the time for all due diligence is before you buy. Our cars are sold AS-IS, since most are on consignment from owners. We follow FTC guidelines for all sales and certainly want our future clients leaving more glowing reports among our reviews!
