Terms of service

These terms cover this website and messages you send the shop, including through our Google Business Profile. A repair, a restoration, or the sale of a car is governed by the written documents for that job.

Using this website

These terms are an agreement between you and Farland Classic Restoration, 3800 S Kalamath St, Englewood, CO 80110. By using this website, or by messaging the shop through a channel we publish, you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site or the messaging channel. You can still call or visit, and those conversations are covered by what we agree in person and by Colorado law.

The site and the messaging channel are for people 18 or older. If you send us someone else’s information, you confirm that you have authority to share it.

The site describes our restoration, repair, consignment, and sales work. It is an invitation to inquire. A listing, a price, a photo, or a sentence on a page is not an offer, a warranty, or a promise that a car is still available. Cars are subject to prior sale. Details that matter to you should be confirmed before you rely on them. The written documents for a specific car or a specific job control that transaction.

If these terms and the privacy policy ever conflict about personal data, the privacy policy controls.

Messaging the shop

You can reach us through the forms on this site, by phone, by email, and through the messaging channel on our Google Business Profile, including RCS and other Google messaging surfaces. We read messages during these hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am - 3:00pm
  • Saturday - Sunday: By appointment

A message that arrives while we are closed is read on the next day we are open. This channel is not an emergency service. If you are in danger, call 911.

An automated assistant may answer first. It uses information we have published about the shop, such as services, hours, and location. It can misunderstand a question or give an incomplete answer. Nothing it says is a quote, a diagnosis, an approval to start work, an offer to buy or sell a car, or a confirmed appointment. A time, a price, or a scope of work in an automated reply is only a suggestion. It becomes a commitment only when Farland confirms it in a written estimate, repair order, bill of sale, consignment agreement, or another message that expressly confirms the appointment or the work.

Ask for a person at any time. A member of the shop will follow up during the hours above. We may end a conversation that is abusive, unlawful, or unrelated to the shop.

By starting a conversation, you agree that we may reply on that same channel about the inquiry you started. If you give us a phone number or an email address, we may use it to follow up on that inquiry. We do not use this channel for promotional blasts. If you receive a message you did not ask for, reply STOP and we will stop.

Do not send a Social Security number, payment card number, bank account number, driver’s license number, password, or health information in a message or a website form. If a title, a test drive, or a payment actually requires identification or a card, we will take it through a proper channel at the shop.

Google provides the messaging service and is a separate controller of information it processes. Google’s privacy policy (opens in a new tab) and the Farland privacy policy both apply to that conversation. We may keep the thread and share it with staff who are handling your inquiry.

Repairs, restorations, and sales

Restoration, repair, storage, consignment, and the sale of a vehicle start only when the written documents for that job say they do. An example on the website, a range of cost, or a description of past work is an illustration. It is not a quote for your car.

Colorado’s Motor Vehicle Repair Act requires a repair facility to obtain consent and to provide an estimate before many repairs, and it requires the facility to keep that work order for at least three years. The Act does not apply to a motor vehicle that is twenty-five or more years old, or to a collector’s item as Colorado defines that term. A great deal of our work is on cars outside the Act. Where the Act applies, we follow it, including its rules on estimates, consent, and additional charges.

Any warranty for a car or a job is written into the documents for that car or that job. A photo, a listing, or a sentence on this website does not create a warranty. If a written estimate, repair order, invoice, bill of sale, or consignment agreement conflicts with these website terms, the written document controls.

Acceptable use

When you use the site or message the shop, you agree that you will not:

  • Break the law, or help someone else break it.
  • Impersonate another person, or send us someone else’s personal information without authority.
  • Send malware, or try to disrupt, scrape, or break into the site.
  • Harass our staff, or use the messaging channel for anything other than a genuine inquiry about the shop, a car, or a project.
  • Copy the site’s photography, logo, or text for your own commercial use without written permission.

We may refuse a message, a project, or a sale that does not fit the shop. We may suspend access to the website messaging tools if these terms are broken.

Your content and ours

You keep ownership of the text, photos, and videos you send us. You give us permission to use them to respond, to evaluate the car, to perform work you ask for, and to keep ordinary business records. We will not use your name, story, or photos in advertising without your permission. If you suggest a topic for the journal, we may write about the topic without using your name.

The site’s text, photography, video, and the Farland name and logo are owned by Farland Classic Restoration or used with permission. You may view the site and share a link to it. You may not copy the photography or the logo for a commercial purpose without our written permission.

The site links to services we do not control, including Google, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. When you leave this site, or message us inside one of those services, that service’s terms and privacy policy apply as well.

Disclaimers and liability

To the fullest extent Colorado law allows, the website and the messaging channel are provided as-is. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, that an automated reply will be complete or current, or that a listing will remain available.

Claims about a repair, a restoration, storage, consignment, or the sale of a vehicle are governed by the written documents for that job and by Colorado law. The limit in the next paragraph does not apply to those claims.

For a claim that arises only from your use of the website or the messaging channel, and to the fullest extent Colorado law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to one hundred U.S. dollars. This limit does not apply to liability that Colorado law does not allow us to limit.

You are responsible for a claim against us that arises because you misused the site, sent unlawful content, or gave us someone else’s personal data without authority.

Colorado law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for a dispute about these website terms lies in the state courts located in Arapahoe County, Colorado, except where the law gives you a different forum you cannot waive, including small claims court when your claim qualifies.

Nothing in these terms waives a right you have under Colorado law that cannot be waived, including rights under the Colorado Privacy Act and, where it applies, the Motor Vehicle Repair Act.

If a court finds one part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Waiting to enforce a term is not a waiver of it. We may assign these terms if the business is transferred. You may not assign them without our consent.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page and changing the date at the top. The new version applies to use of the site after that date. A message you already sent stays under the terms that were posted when you sent it.
