So here's a brand-new one for us, even with 34 years under our belt!
An original Vail Ski Resort Gondola car.
Number 61 was one of the original gondola cars when the lift opened in 1962.
The gondola has been in storage, in back yards, and who-knows-where for decades.
Now it's coming to us to be returned to original condition.
Among other things, it has its original seats, much of the lift hardware and lots and lots of surprises.
A large bucket of dirt and debris had settled under the floor - which was in very poor shape.
The plexiglas windows are also very scuffed and cloudy.
We worked on one and had much success getting it clear!
Our metal pro is working on some patches for the thin aluminum, as well as installing a rugged new diamond plate floor.
This will be a marketing piece, so we want to make sure it fits today's audience.
